Hi Dream Girl,
You’ve made the vision board.
You know the routine.
You’ve saved the apartment, the career, the body, the outfits, the morning matcha, the whole beautifully color-coded life.
You know the girl you want to be.
So why do you keep procrastinating on becoming her?
And please don’t tell me you need another planner. 😂
Because if wanting it badly enough were the problem, your 847 Pinterest saves would’ve handled this months ago.
Here’s what I think is actually happening:
You’re not always procrastinating on the thing. Sometimes you’re procrastinating on the version of yourself the thing requires.
And that’s a very different problem.
THE AHA
You may not be avoiding the dream. You may be avoiding how unfamiliar becoming her feels.

You Keep Waiting to Feel Like HER First
This is the sneaky part.
You think one morning you’re going to wake up feeling disciplined enough to work out.
Confident enough to post.
Focused enough to start the business.
Motivated enough to finally get your life together.
Basically, you’re waiting for a magical internal costume change.
And then you’ll act like HER.
Except…
What if the action comes first?
You make the scary phone call while still feeling like you.
You go to Pilates while still feeling like the girl who’s never been consistent.
You post while your brain is screaming, Who do we think we are?
You keep one promise.
Then another.
Eventually, your brain has something new to work with:
evidence.
You’re not pretending to be her.
You’re giving yourself a history with her.
The psychology
Familiar doesn’t automatically mean right. It often just means rehearsed.
Your Procrastination Might Not Be a Discipline Problem
This is why Googling another morning routine doesn’t always fix it.
Two women can procrastinate on the exact same goal for completely different reasons.
One doesn’t believe she can do it.
One is terrified of what happens if she actually tries.
One knows exactly what to do but struggles to follow through.
One keeps returning to an old identity.
And one has built an environment that makes her desired behavior ten times harder than it needs to be.
They all look “unmotivated” from the outside.
But underneath?
Same procrastination. Completely different reason. Completely different solution.
This is one reason I created the Dream Girl Gap.
Before you prescribe yourself more discipline, it helps to know what’s actually getting in the way.

Stop Making “Becoming Her” One Giant Task
There’s another reason you might be procrastinating:
HER is enormous.
You’ve accidentally turned becoming your Dream Girl into a 72-item renovation project. 😂
New body.
New career.
New apartment.
New wardrobe.
New routine.
New mindset.
New bank account.
New personality apparently??
No wonder your brain would rather watch TikTok.
You don’t need to become HER today.
You need one decision that belongs to her.
If she takes care of her body, what’s one decision?
If she protects her time, what’s one decision?
If she takes her dream seriously, what’s one decision?
If she keeps promises to herself, what’s one promise you can keep today?
That’s much less dramatic.
And much more powerful.
The insight
Stop trying to become her all at once. Give yourself one new piece of evidence today.
Your Goal Isn’t a Perfect Streak
This is where we accidentally make procrastination worse.
You miss Monday.
The routine is ruined.
You don’t work out for three days.
Glow up canceled.
You fall behind on one goal and suddenly your entire new era has been removed from the fall schedule. 😂
No.
Resume.
You don’t need another dramatic reset every time real life happens.
The woman you’re becoming isn’t the woman who never gets off track.
She’s the woman who knows how to come back without turning one imperfect day into another abandoned dream.
That’s a skill.
And every time you resume, you create more evidence that you can trust yourself.
So, How Do You Stop Procrastinating on Becoming Her?
Don’t start by asking:
How do I force myself to do more?
Ask:
What’s actually making this hard for me?
Then:
What’s one decision I can make today that the woman I’m becoming would recognize?
Not seventeen.
One.
Make it.
Keep it.
Get the receipt.
Then do it again.
Because becoming HER probably isn’t waiting on some giant burst of motivation.
She might be waiting on a much smaller moment:
the next time you have the opportunity to choose like her…and you finally do. 💗
